GET THE BEST. The NASB is the most literal, word-for-word modern-day translation. It's only slightly more difficult to read than the NIV. More....
If you don't like my first three suggestions as being too wimpy, I recommend that you consider a New American Standard Bible (NASB, and more recently also called the NAS) in a Study Bible format with virtually the same great study notes as the famous NIV Study Bible. |
